“This is YA at its darkest, coldest, and most endearing. The emotion set in this engrossing psychological fantasy is touched upon so well and flawlessly conveyed to the reader in a way that can only have been written by someone who put their heart and soul into this beautifully crafted work. This book reminds me of some of the deepest and most emotionally charged work of Madeleine L’Engle injected into a world that is part Oz, part Narnia, and all heart. But, though it carries elements reminiscent of other great works, there is nothing derivative about it as we explore a brand new world of the human mind built upon the remnants of one young girl’s shattered hope. This story blends pain and perseverance brilliantly and is not only entertaining, but inspiring, as well.”

“For a rookie author, Lacy demonstrates the writing ability of someone well versed in experience with her ability to paint the landscape with vivid detail of her mystical realms, the fine intricacies of her characters relationships and how they impact each other, and leaves just enough out to pull you in desiring more. In fantasy fictional writing, allowing your readers to fully imagine the characters, creatures, and scenery with their own mind is wherein its power to transport you to worlds other than our own lies, and she captures this quite well with Hesed and all its wonders, dangers, and mysteries. I look forward to seeing her growth as an author and reading about further adventures in the realm of Hesed.”  -Amazon Review

“I have loved reading for as long as I can remember. I’m pretty specific as to what type of writing I prefer, however. I’ve started a number of books over the years that I’ve put down long before I finished because they just didn’t hold my attention, or when I put it down after a reading session, I had no desire to go back and read more. I just didn’t care what happened next. But this book. Oh this book!!! I COULDN’T put it down! I have three young kids so my reading time is hard to come by these days. Mostly it’s at bedtime, so I’m laying there way past MY bedtime, trying to hold my eyes open and read just one more page. Then when I got to the end…Oh. My. Word. Ah-mazing!!!!! So beautifully unbelievable! You know when you read a really good book and it infiltrates your life, and you think about the characters almost as if they’re your real life friends, etc. Well, that’s how I feel about this book. Seriously. Even still, weeks later, I think about it, and wonder what’s next. I am in awe, and completely intrigued, and am left wanting more, and anxiously awaiting the rest of the story. I sure hope the sequel is in the works!!! Overall, completely love and cannot wait!”

“WOW!! As someone who has always been a big reader, I can truly say this book is INCREDIBLE! The Girl Who Once Thrived is captivating from the very start. It’s one of those books that is instantly hard to put down, and when it’s finished you can’t help but create a million scenarios as to what might happen next. The Girl Who Once Thrived has a little bit of the same feel as The Chronicles of Narnia, as well as the Twilight and Percy Jackson series, but yet is so completely different and unique in its very own way! One of my very favorite parts of the book though, is how you feel like you’re right there in the book with the characters, and you can feel/relate to everything they are going through and feeling themselves! I don’t want to give too much away, but I know this book series will go very far!”
